Welcome to Philippine Board of Anesthesiology Website.

  • On May 18, 1967, at the Second National Convention of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA) held in Manila, the PSA Constitution was amended to allow the creation of an independent body that would certify specialists in the art and science of Anesthesiology. This specialist would be known as a "Fellow" of the Philippine Board of Anesthesiology (PBA)..

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION IS TO ACCREDIT TRAINING PROGRAMS AND TO CERTIFY PROFESSIONALS IN THE DISCIPLINE OF ANESTHESIOLOGY THAT ENSURES PATIENT SAFETY, EMBODYING THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ETHICAL STANDARDS BY:

1. Maintaining the organization as the foremost authority in the accreditation and certification of anesthesia training programs.

2. Implementing an outcome-based core curriculum in all anesthesia residency training programs.

3. Evaluating residency training programs for accreditation.

4. Certifying qualified resident graduates using valid and reliable assessment tools.

5. Overseeing accreditation of sub-specialty training programs.

6. Promoting collaboration among stakeholders in sharing resources and expertise.

7. Facilitating the provision of professional development training for the Boards of Accreditors and Examiners.
